Journalist's Guide to the Internet
I got this from Bill's blog, it has links to numerous different resources. Journalist's Guide
Interesting
The numbers highprogrammer.com can compute are just interesting. Driver's License, SSN, etc all based on certain technology I don't understand.
Stay Informed
Staying up date on all the news at school is much more difficult so I like to check the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune and New York Times website for up to date news. You can also check the Washington Post. Registration is required, but it's free. USA Today's easy section break down makes getting info on something specific easier.
Get Around the Internet Faster
On my J419 teacher's blog I found a website Sree.net:Smarter Surfing with so many different links you would use if you knew they existed.
Make your own pages
I've been trying to learn html so I can create websites that are not dependent on the amount of space given by a specific server. The directions aren't foolproof, but any instructions help
Journalist's Toolbox
The Journalist's Toolbox has links to resources for almost any topic you can think up.

The Weather Channel
The Weather Channel can give you up to the minute temperature details as well as weather from hour to hour or day to day. Once you're on the site you'll find different things like allergen levels or air pollution levels just to name a few.

Mapquest
I never get into my car without knowing exactly where I'm going now that Mapquest exists.
There are 3 categories here.

I heard about the miraculous ability google had to find anything on the internet. Unless something is misspelled or doesn't exist, I have not been let down.

What's Up in Beauty
Take a look at sephora if you have any make up needs that your local department or drug stores can't satisfy. The selection is incredible. But watch out cause the things they sell here are not for those with a mild love of all things beauty, it's for the passionate. Enjoy.

Katrina
It is not often that I like to dwell on the misfortune that falls upon others especially when it would be unbearable if it happened to me. The wrath of Katrina, or shall I say "One of the many things in a long line of what looks like God is setting up the end of the world", left me feeling sympathetic, powerless, and worst of all - angry! It is expected that Mother Nature will humble humanity whenever she pleases. Man's finest hours usually result from these catastrophies, but it saddens me beyond measure to hear that people take adavantage of the situation by looting, sexually assaulting people, and the bevy of other crimes committed. I know this does not include everyone but it bothers me to think about the person pushing a big screen TV through knee deep water under the dillusion it will work when/if they get it home and when the electricity is finally cut back on.
On the positive side I have decided to donate money (although I have no source of income, but that is a different conversation) and I encourage anyone who can spare anything to donate. Be honest you don't need those shoes or that make up because right now you have your house which is way more than alot of these people.
Finally, I sincerely hope that while this has already to some degree become a racial issue that people overlook that and take note of the fact that HUMAN BEINGS are in trouble and it is our duty to help, even if we only pray!

Why is the blog called A.Bro
I wondered if anyone looked at the name of my blog and thought, "Oh wow that is a dumb name! I wonder if she had to name it that, etc." The truth is one day while I was watching E! Entertainment Network I heard Lindsay Lohan referred to as L.Lo similar to the way J.LO decided she should abbreviate her name. It just made me laugh. I thought that anyone with an O in their name could do that. This thought led into the thought of what my name would be and I came up with the A.Bro and really, really made myself laugh. I had to share it with the world and the rest is history!
* This surprisingly does not work for all names, but hey I welcome you to prove me wrong.
